Frequently Asked Questions / FAQ'S

What are Rosin Filters or Press Bags?

1) Function: It is a fine mesh pouch that holds the starting cannabis material (flower, kief, or bubble hash) while it's being pressed between heated plates in a rosin press.

2) Filtration: The primary function is to act as a filter. The heat and pressure liquefy the resinous cannabinoids and terpenes (rosin), allowing them to flow out through the mesh and onto parchment paper. The bag traps unwanted plant matter, fats, lipids, and waxes, resulting in a cleaner, purer final concentrate.

3) Material: Rosin filter bags are most commonly made from food-grade, heat-resistant nylon. Nylon is preferred because it is durable, flexible under pressure, and less prone to "blowouts" (bursting) compared to materials like silk or metal.

4) Micron Size: Rosin filter bags are defined by their micron (μm) rating, which refers to the size of the tiny holes in the mesh. Choosing the right micron size is crucial and depends on the starting material.

Our Rosin Filters are designed to keep contaminates out during the rosin process. Available in various micron sizes to aid with extraction, from flower to hash. Available in packs of 20 or 40 and micron sizes 37, 90,120 and 160.

Dab Tools & Dabbing Accessories

Nector Collectors

A nectar collector, also called a dab straw or honey straw, is a portable dabbing tool designed for vaporizing cannabis concentrates like wax and oil. Typically made from glass, silicone, or wood, it features a heated tip that touches the concentrate while the user inhales through a tube, delivering smooth and flavorful vapor.

Dab Straws and Nectar Collectors: The Modern Way to Enjoy Concentrates

As dabbing gains popularity, users are seeking out sleek, portable devices for an enhanced experience. Nectar collectors—also known as dab straws—are quickly becoming the go-to solution for on-the-go concentrate consumption. Unlike traditional dab rigs where you place the extract into the heated glass, these innovative tools allow you to heat the tip and simply touch it to your concentrate. This streamlined process is not only efficient but also incredibly easy to use. They are an affordable, high quality, and essential upgrade for any concentrate enthusiast, opening up a world of simple dabbing possibilities for both seasoned users and newcomers alike.

Why you should choose a Nectar Collector:

Both nectar collectors and dab rigs are popular choices for consuming concentrates. Instead of filling a chamber like a dab rig, nectar collectors use a process referred to as “dipping”, where smokers simply heat the tip of the dab straw and dip it directly into the concentrate. If you’re looking for a more convenient option, a nectar collector offers several advantages.

Here’s are a few reasons you might choose one over a dab rig:

  • Portable and Compact - Lightweight and easy to carry, a nectar collector is perfect for on-the-go dabbing without the bulk of a full dab rig.

  • Heated Tip for Maximum Flavor - By heating the tip, concentrates vaporize instantly without combustion, preserving their full terpene profile.

  • Cost-Effective - Nectar collectors are typically a more budget-friendly option to enjoy concentrates. Also, users have precise control over concentrate consumption, minimizing waste.

Dab Tools: What's Their Purpose?

Dab Tools have slightly different designs while still sharing the same primary purpose: to get your dab successfully into your nectar collector or dab rig. Some dabbers are better used for different consistencies of concentrates, amongst a few other factors. All of our dab tools are designed and engineered with the connoisseur in mind to make dabbing, scooping and cleaning as efficient as possible. Dr. Squeeze Dab Tools are the industry standard.

How Do I Use a Dab Tool?

Using a dabber tool is easy, starting with step one:

  • Heat the tips. Use a butane torch to heat the tips or bangers until it reaches the desired temperature. The ideal temperature for dabbing is between 350 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Apply the concentrate to the device. Next, using your dab tool, you are going to scoop your preferred amount of product on your tool and transfer it from the container to your ready-to-go heated device.

  • Inhale the vapor. then you are going to inhale gently and allow your concentrate to be evenly distributed and vaporized, and then exhale slowly, getting a clean and easy hit.

  • Exhale the vapor. After you have inhaled the vapor, exhale it slowly.

What are Microns?

A micron is a unit of measurement equal to one-millionth of a meter (1μm = 0.000001m). In the world of rosin pressing, microns refer to the pore size of the mesh filter bag you're using—basically, how fine or open the weave is.

Think of it like a strainer:

  • Larger micron numbers (like 160μm) have bigger openings that let more material through.

  • Smaller micron numbers (like 37μm) have finer openings that filter out more impurities.

Which Micron Size Should I Use?

Here’s a quick breakdown of which micron size is best for different materials and textures:

  • 160 Micron – Best for fresh, sticky flower (like fresh-frozen). Great for high yield with some plant material.

  • 120 Micron – Ideal for slightly sticky or semi-dry flower. Balances yield and cleanliness.

  • 90 Micron – Recommended for fully cured, dry flower. Produces a cleaner press with less contamination.

  • 37 Micron – Perfect for kief, dry sift, or bubble hash. Delivers the cleanest, highest-quality rosin with minimal plant matter.

Why Microns Matter

The filter you choose affects:

  • Purity – Finer microns reduce contaminants in your final product.

  • Yield – Larger microns increase output but may include more plant particles.

  • Press Consistency – Using the right micron prevents blowouts and waste.

All Dr. Squeeze™ Rosin Filter Bags are made with 100% food-grade nylon, heat-sealed seams, and reinforced stitching to deliver the cleanest, most reliable press—no matter which material you’re working with. www.rosinfilters.com
