Directions:
A blowtorch is the standard tool used to heat the tip of a glass nectar collector
. It will not break the glass if used correctly on the appropriate tip material (quartz or borosilicate glass), but improper use can cause damage. 
 
How to Prevent Breaking the Glass
 
Heat Only the Tip: Focus the flame exclusively on the tip of the collector to minimize the heat's spread and prevent cracks from forming further down the body of the piece.
Avoid Overheating: Do not heat the glass until it is glowing orange. This indicates it is too hot and can stress the material.
Use Butane, Not Propane: Propane torches burn at a higher temperature than butane, which can damage your equipment over time. Butane is better suited for this purpose.
Allow for Proper Cooling: Once heated, allow the tip to cool for a few seconds before use (typical range is 15-30 seconds, depending on the desired temperature). Touching concentrate with an glowing-hot tip can burn off flavor and potentially shock the glass. 
 
Following these practices ensures the blowtorch serves its intended function without breaking the glass.
